           Overview

I am Francesco Sonoyo, a writer from Rome, Italy. In 2010, fourteen years after the release of the album Ænima,

I received a phone call that changed my understanding of my own past. I was told that, unknowingly, I had become Harry Manback - a voice featured on a platinum Tool record. Back in 1992, an audio message I left on an answering machine was recorded and later passed to the band. Years later, it appeared as the interludes Message to Harry Manback (Ænima, 1996) and Message to Harry Manback (Salival, 2000).

For nearly two decades, I had no idea that my voice had become part of alternative rock history.

This book is my personal reconstruction of that chapter of my life - the people involved, the context of the 1990s Los Angeles scene, and the cultural impact of a name that became legend.

The Legend of Harry Manback is both an autobiographical account and a historical investigation into one of the most debated moments in modern rock mythology.                         Available on Amazon.
